The company IWA-Gymnastics Shoes was founded in 1982 in Crailsheim, Germany.  Its origin lays in a tradition established in 1924 by its parent, German sport shoe giant "Möbus".  In 1978 "Möbus" was sold to "Onitsuka Tiger Company" of Japan.  This merger was a creation of a Sport industry leader "ASICS".  Few years after, "ASICS" closed its production line in Germany and this gave a "green light" for IWA (Ilse Wahl).

With over 75 years of technical manufacturing experience comes a product line, setting the standard for shoes worn by world champions as well as children and recreational athletes.
